I searched this evening for information about autumn leaves, and came upon this song. This is a song I remember hearing in my childhood, but had forgotten. Isn't the voice of Nat King Cole just wonderful...and so well suited to this piece. I like the video presentation here. I know this is a little sad, not quite the upbeat note I had been looking for this week, but it is so beautiful, I think.

Such a beautiful song. Thanks.
Teri,
You're welcome!

I remember this from a movie with Cliff Robertson I watched, as a kid. Its a hauntingly beautiful song and NKC was an amazing performer. So sad his life was so short....
Hi, Geraldine,
Was the movie Charlie, by any chance?
I remember that movie.
Thanks for dropping in!

Oh Brenda, this was one of my favorite songs when I was younger. I even learned to play it on the piano for my dad. So lovely. Ann
Ann,
This really makes me so happy to hear.
I'm glad you have enjoyed it.
It is such a pretty tune...

Hi Brenda, Thanks for the compliment. I love hats!
The movie is called: Autumn Leaves: here's the Wiki page about it:

it wasn't a "kid" movie, definitely one for adults but you know how it was...we watched anyways in those days, didn't we. LOL Didn't understand it all though. I think I'd like to see it again now. I think Cliff Robertson is so good looking and such a good actor.

Hey, Geraldine,
I didn't know about this movie, thanks!!!
The movie Charlie, was also an adult movie, based on a book called Algernon, I think. It is quite sad, and bitter-sweet, so thought the song COULD have been used in it.
Yes, Cliff Robertson is very handsome, and did an awesome job in this movie.
Do you remember it now?

Hi Brenda, I saw Charlie too, another great movie with Cliff Robertson. I found out he just passed on, Sept. 10, 11 when I was looking for the Autumn Leaves ref. page, over at Wiki. He was 88. A life well lived, I'd say.
