I remember all the nuts on the ground and asking my dad to please roast them! He didn't know how, but we always got some from the street vendors in the winter in downtown Toronto. Lovely trees! To me that would be a good choice for an area with lots of wind. I don't know much about chestnuts. I think I remember hearing about this happening in some parts of North America, and finding it interesting because we are planting more of these, and they are flourishing.
